Blythe Jazz Suit Pre Order List

Blythe "Jazz" suit set, made by me with lots of love.  The set comes with a tiny black and white gingham jacket and pants.  The jacket has bright pink inner lining and pants have 2 working front pockets.  The shirt is made with light salmon pink cotton, it comes with a pea green silk bow. The bow is attached to the shirt.  The shirt has 2 snap closures, the pants has a hook closure in the back.

I made 10 of these suit sets for BlytheCon SF and they quickly sold out.  I took a few pre-orders at BCon SF, so I thought I would open up the list to people that couldn't go.  I have enough fabric to make another 18 sets, I won't be able to get more after that.  This set will be retired until a new design comes along.  Production will start in November, I can guarantee delivery before Christmas. :)

The set is $100.00 + $6.00 US shipping (Canada $12, Worldwide $15)

Tiny Haus Pink Suits

My newest suit for Blythe!  This set is inspired by the pink suit Mark Ryden wore to his LA opening.  You'll get a pink blazer, pink pants and white shirt with deep pink tie.  This is just a working shot, there are a few details I still need to work out, but the suit itself is done.  I just wanted to give you all a preview pic ;)

Hello everyone,

I thought I would change this blog a little and include Tiny Haus fashion as well as Guy/Cat hats.  Since Guy's passing I've had little interest in making hats, but it may resurface someday.  :)  Guy is always in my heart.

Tiny Haus Dresses available at BlytheCon Seattle.  These are my take on the Wizard of Oz characters.


"Tin Man's Heart" dress, modeled by a custom Blythe by I.G. Sirenita.
It's a lace overlay on steel gray fabric with red velvet belt, beaded straps and snap closure. I will have 9 of these dresses available. 



"A Beautiful Mind" dress, modeled by Heisenberg, a custom Blythe by me. Reroot done by Kate Hardin/Chantilly Lace.  This is my take on the Scarecrow.
It's a lace overlay on ivory fabric with green velvet belt, beaded straps and snap closure. I will have 12 of these dresses available. 


"Glinda's Gown"
It's a lace overlay on pink fabric with lavender velvet belt, beaded straps and snap closure. I will have 9 of these dresses available. 


"Puppy Love", my take on Toto.
It's a lace overlay on ivory fabric with green velvet belt, ribbon flower brooch and snap closure. I will have 6 of these dresses available. 


"Lion's Courage"
It's a lace overlay on mustard colored fabric with golden velvet belt, ribbon flower brooch and snap closure. I will have 6 of these dresses available. 


"Dorothy's Home"
It's a lace overlay on turquoise blue fabric with matching velvet belt and snap closure. I will have 5 of these dresses available. Red bow and shoes are not included with the dress.


"Emerald I (left) & Emerald II (right)"
It's a lace overlay on sage green fabric, velvet belt, ribbon and rhinestone brooch and snap closure. I will have 9 of the left one and 12 of the right one. 

Cat Hats: A New Chapter Begins...

Last Call!

Hello Everyone,
I've decided to close the Guy Hat commission list at the end of April, but I will continue to accept requests until then.  It's been an amazing ride and we've had a lot of fun making Guy Hats!  Guy is quite the senior at 16 years old, needless to say I wouldn't make Guy hats if Guy wasn't around.  I'd like to end this project on a high note :)

Guy passed away on October 7th, around 3pm.  He was able to do so at home with us by his side.  His spirit will remain with us for as long as we live.  I did a blog post about Guy's passing here:

Class #4 and Postal Rates Increase

Class of 2013 has another batch of graduates! They all got shipped to their prospectus homes today.  I hope they get there safe and sound.  It's been so much fun seeing little "Guys" pop up on Flickr.  Thank you everyone for all of your enthusiasm on this silly project!

Today was also the first day of a HUGE increase in postage rates here.  I'm so sad to say that postage rates went up today.  The hardest hit is on international shipping, International First Class rates will go up as much as 60%!  They're really making it difficult for us to do business with other countries.  Boooo! I wish there was a cheaper method to ship, but there isn't.

So new rates are:
US Shipping: $3.50
Canada Shipping: $9.00 (raise from $5.00)
Worldwide Shipping $ 13.00 (raise from $8.50)

This will definitely hit online sellers, especially us dolly folks with less expensive items.  In some cases you'd be spending as much on the shipping as the item itself!

The Packaging

I thought I would do a post on how Guy hats are packaged and shipped.  Every hat comes with a polaroid picture of Guy, an "I heart Guy" pin and is shipped in a cardboard shipper. 

 
I made rubber stamps for the pin. ^_^

 
Each package comes with an original polaroid photo of Guy!  I wanted to give each hat a personal touch.  If you like nostalgia or shooting with film I highly recommend getting a Fujifilm Instax camera.  It's really fun and great for parties, you can have instant memories to share with your friends.  I think having a physical momento is wonderful in the digital age.
I debated between getting the Instax 210 or the Instax Mini 25.  I went with the Mini for size sake.  I don't think I would ever tote around a HUGE camera other than my Canon 7D.

The Hats: Class of 2012

Wow!  Thank you for all the love everyone ^_^   The first batch of 10 are finished and have been shipped.  I like the idea of having "graduating classes" so I'll keep making them in batches.  The 2nd batch of 10 are in the works.  Guy says thank you for your support!

I recently adjusted shipping costs for worldwide shipping from $5.00 to $8.50.  Shipping to Canada will stay at $5.00 and shipping to the US will stay at $3.50.  The hats are shipped in a cardboard box for protection, but it also weighs more.  These shipping costs are for regular airmail (1st Class if you're in the US), if you need a faster method you can contact me for a quote.   Thank you for understanding about this adjustment.  I thought I could ship internationally with a padded envelope, but I don't want to risk any damages.

There's also a hook and loop closure for the chin strap.  The hook faces outward and it's hidden in the fur.  I wanted something low key and I also wanted the metal hook to face outward so it won't be a scratch hazard.  Although these hooks are pretty smooth, I just don't like the idea of having metal against plastic.

Nitty Gritty

My 1st prototype hat!  I made a few adjustments after completing this hat.  I'll post more pics soon!

How It All Began!

Hello Everyone!
Thank you for visiting my blog and for your interest in a "Guy Hat" for Blythe.  The idea started from a joke on Facebook.  My friend Juan a.k.a Dr.Blythenstein suggested I should make a Blythe hat that looks like my dog Guy.  I thought it was hilarious and crazy... a PERFECT challenge!


I got to work over the next few days and drafted a pattern for a Blythe "Guy Hat"!  I can't believe all of the interest I got from this project.  I thought it would be too weird and who would want a hat of my dog?!?!  I've underestimated Guy's charisma :P


This was my original sketch for the design.  The hat is fully lined and made with high quality fur fabric, fleece and wefted Yak hair.  It also has Safety eyes and nose.  I hand sculpt and paint a Fimo "snaggle tooth" for each hat, this old pup's tooth is hardly white at his age and it also has little cracks... I HAD to be authentic!  He only has 4 teeth left, each one is precious. :P  The hat will also have a chin strap.


His famous ear hairs are made of wefted Yak hair.  His inner ears are made of fleece with light coloring from chalk pastels, no worries the pastel won't rub off.  I'm still in the process of making the packaging for this hat, but I think it will come with a Polaroid shot of Guy and a "I♥Guy" button.

A little history about Guy:
Guy is about 15 years old now, we adopted him 8 years ago from a rescue.  He's had a few families before us, but aside from having separation anxiety he's a happy dog.  He's my pal, my shadow, my rake on the ground.  We love him so much and he brings out so many smiles everywhere he goes.  I've seen him go from happy-go-lucky dog to grumpy old man.  ^_^
p.s. Guy's lawyers and accountants are setting royalties on these hats!  He wants steak, chicken and back rubs...
